The costume is good! Maybe you could have used some makeup too! (or did you do it? You can't see too well in the pic...)

(Haha, look who I am to talk... =P )

Shao Jun in canon travelled to Italy from China heavily pursued by the Templar agents of the Emperor. She isn't wearing makeup in the movie- not even eyeliner- and expresses, frequently, a state of exhaustion and fatigue.

Makeup would not really be appropriate for this character, in my opinion. I prefer costumes weathered and ragged.

I'm glad you chose to convey a character and not reduce yourself to a CoverGirl ad. You look beautiful - deadly, stunning and full of vivid character!

Perfect cosplay is perfect.

1) Thanks ....
2) She doesn't wear makeup, she's not trying to draw attention to herself.

That's not what I meant. What I meant is... like theatre makeup, something to give a bit more the look of the character.

I'm the same ethnicity as the character, I dont know what extra factors you could want past that.

Could you provide more concrete examples?

I don't know, you looked a bit too pale in that pic. Maybe that was just the camera.

Or maybe I have to clean my laptop and my glasses. No offence meant, anyway. You really made a great job, far better than I could have ever made.
(Well that's not saying too much, actually, as I'm a "novice" cosplayer, but good job anyway and high five!)

I purposefully altered this image to look old and faded.
I dunno dude, when you get to the point of criticing a cosplay is off because a person's skin tone .... your taking the fun out this fandom.
